As one of the most trusted names in home remodeling in the Raleigh area, we want you to make an informed, educated decision when choosing a company to trust with your home improvement project. So this week I’ve been sharing a five part series on how to choose a remodeling company, things to look for and things to beware of, the 4 R’s. We’ve been through all the R’s, so you’re probably wondering what’s left. Just one more thing! Here’s part 5.
Notice that no part of the 4 “’R”s includes anything about price. This is by design. It’s not that price isn’t important; of course it is. But we’re talking about your home here, so it’s about being smart, not cheap. Value in remodeling comes from quality service at a good price. If you follow the 4 “R”s you’ll likely discover that the remodeling company that offers you the lowest bid does not have the resources to properly service you or likely takes short cuts to be able to offer a rock bottom estimate. The same goes of the highest bid; a company that is trying to price gouge probably cares more about their profit than you, the homeowner, and this will be revealed if you do the leg work beforehand. So the price issue becomes secondary. A good company, one that meets or exceeds your qualifying expectations as you go through the 4 “R”s, you can pretty much guarantee will offer a fair, competitive bid.
Throughout your decision making process, keep in mind that the remodeling company you choose to work on your home will be working closely with you for several days if not weeks. You’re trusting them with your home, the shelter of your family and loved ones. Also, depending on the scope of your project, you could me making one of the largest investments you have since the actual purchase of your home. So choosing a remodeling company is definitely not a decision to be taken lightly. Remember, you wouldn’t have just anyone babysit your kids, so don’t let just anyone remodel your home. You deserve the best and the 4 “R”s will help make sure that’s what you get.
Just to sum up, the 4’Rs to Choosing a Remodeling are:
And remember it’s about the R’s, a good price will happen organically if you trust the process! Good luck!
